This term in PE Year 1 are focusing on fitness and fundamentals. This week the children focused on climbing and balancing. Specifically focusing on having control over their body, ensuring their movements were safe and well thought out.

Year 1 had the pleasure of welcoming Mrs Akbar into school to help deepen our understanding of Muslims and their way of life. We were fortunate to see some very special artefacts and even had the opportunity to try on hijabs and caps!

Internet Safety Day 2025
This week, the children have been learning all about Internet safety. This year's theme is 'Too good to be true?' - where the children have learnt all about what a SCAM is. We kicked off our learning by having a whole school assembly to introduce the theme and to discuss how we can keep safe online. The children then completed lots of fun activities in their classrooms, to show their learning and understanding of this year's theme.

Hartlebury Castle Museum
We had so much fun exploring toys from the past on our trip to Hartlebury Castle Museum. There are so many interactive displays and fun things to do, we all really loved it - especially dressing up in costumes from times gone by!

Animal Man
Year 1 were so excited to meet lots of amazing animals from the 'Animal Man!' They met a range of animals which they were able to observe, touch and hold. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to get close to animals and apply their knowledge and skills about animals classifications, that they have been learning about in science.

In our Art, we have been learning about colour mixing. We have used this skill to make colours to use in printing. We also like to do digital paintings in Computing!
