We value the opportunity for all children to be involved in music during their time with us. Music is taught within lesson time via the National Curriculum throughout the school. Children regularly use percussion instruments during these lessons through our Charanga music scheme of work.
In addition we provide an opportunity for children to take up musical instruments with the support of Severn Arts (formerly Worcestershire Youth Music). The instruments available are varied. Currently we have children learning Descant Recorder, Treble Recorder, Bass Recorder Ukulele, Guitar, Drums and Keyboard during the school day. In addition the school has a Choir Club as an After School activity which is extremely popular.
The children are given lots of opportunities to show case their talents. We hold an annual musical showcase for all our muscians to share their talents with us. Our children are invited to sing at the local care home and with the Bromsgrove Hospice. All our children take part in all festivals over the year.
Pupil Premium Funds: Some of this fund may be used to support children on FSM who may wish to take up an instrument. Please contact the school office for further information. We are very proud of our pupils who achieve excellent marks in their external music exams as part of their studies.
