I cannot believe that it is already the Summer term… the year is flying by! The children have come home with Condover pictures on a disk today, so I’m sure that you will enjoy hearing all about our trip all over again!
Our experience has really motivated the children and we have based lots of learning around it. We began the week by writing recounts and summing up the trip. I’m sure they will enjoy reflecting on it in years to come (if they keep their Year 4 topic books safe!) After a discussion about how unsure some of the children were about going to Condover when they first received their letters, we prepared a presentation for Year 3 to explain a little about how much fun they had! The children spoke about each aspect of the residential confidently and were extremely reassuring.
In Maths this week, we have introduced our angles topic. We have defined angles and identified different types. It was useful for us to refer to acute angles as ‘baby, cute angles’ and obtuse angles as ‘obese’ angles, to help us remember which was bigger and which was smaller than a right angle! We found right angles in the classroom using a pacman angle finder.
A real focus for us in our final term at Tardebigge is PIP (pride in presentation). The children love Mrs Clarkson’s handwriting lessons (and I also benefit from them!) As we are running out of space in our old topic books, the children were so excited to receive new ones for our final ‘What makes Britain Great?’ topic and they are all determined to keep them beautifully presented.
Have a wonderful weekend!
