Literacy- Our superhero storybooks are now finished so this week the children have been designing their front covers for their books.
Maths- The children have been sharing gems equally between the superheroes, solving addition calculations and recording one more and ones than 20. We have also continued to develop our mathematical thinking by discussing what the equals symbol means.
Phonics- We have been continuing to read and write the tricky words on our superhero sliders and writing CVCC words and recognising them when reading sentences.
Martial Arts- Our first martial arts session was a huge success! We really enjoyed playing the games whilst practising different stances. We are excited to develop our skills and punch pads in the next session!
Welly Wednesday- It was a VERY wet and soggy afternoon during our welly walk this week. We were lucky enough to spot a few ducks as we walked to the canal and enjoyed creating massive splashes in the deep puddles.
RE- On Thursday we visited St Bartholomew’s church where we met Mr Hall (the church warden and school governor) who talked to us about the most valuable possession in the church. The children walked around the church searching for what they thought was most valuable. We talked about the font, organ, alter and pews. Mr Hall told us that we are the most valuable and precious because we make up the church and are loved by God.
Have a brilliant weekend. We cannot believe there is only one week left of this half term.
See you on Monday!
