I was just checking out and updating the Year 1 page on the website and noticed my last blog hadn’t uploaded! Sorry!
The time has whizzed by with the snow days, followed by staggered starts and ends due to the icy car park, then the final two days of school. The children impressed me with their ongoing enthusiasm and keenness to learn and work. We have had such a busy time with; party day, watching KS2 dress rehearsal, open the book Christmas assembly, Christmas dinner, making and writing Christmas cards, calendars, Christmas carol concert, Christmas activities and a visit from Father Christmas himself!
We reviewed all our Singapore maths to date and the children impressed me with their knowledge and confidence with the strategies learnt so far. We retold the Nativity story with pictures and sentences and we thought about what we are grateful for at Christmas time. We looked at different materials and investigated different types of papers and predicted and tested which would be the best nose for Rudolph to guide Santa’s sleigh.
I hope you are all having a wonderful, magical Christmas Holidays. I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday 4th 2018 and hearing all about your Christmas holidays!
